Here’s what you can order with your Vivint smart system
Unlike rival home security companies, Vivint’s home and security systems are customized for renters. Here are just a few of the more asked about sensors and services:
Door alarms and glass sensors can warn you when an uninvited visitor breaks into your apartment or rental house. Get an alert to your smartphone if an device triggers, or manage your devices remotely and let in maintenance or guests when you’re at work.
Fire, flood, and safety detectors
Ordinary smoke detectors should come with your rental, but probably not other environmental detectors. Install a wireless carbon monoxide alarm or water detector to alert you and Vivint’s monitoring team to danger before it’s too late.
HD security cameras
HD security cameras may be wirelessly hung so you can watch over indoor rooms. A doorbell camera lets you see -- and converse with -- visitors at the front door. Get real-time HD feeds and notifications about lurkers through the Vivint App.
A big benefit of using Vivint is the monitoring team backing up your alarms. When a component triggers, your monitoring experts immediately contacts you to make sure you’re secure. Then they’ll quickly phone the emergency agency.
Home automation devices
Home automation components, such as smart lighting, can be added to make your rental more energy-efficient. Some devices like a smart thermostat or smart door locks may require prior landlord approval.
The Vivint App
Your Rochester security system can be controlled anywhere through the Vivint App. See real-time camera feeds, remotely turn on and off devices, or program times for alarms and lights. Then receive notifications to your mobile device if a sensor triggers or a security camera picks up suspicious motion.
